Admiral Gial Ackbar is a Mon Calamari character in the Star Wars franchise, renowned as a skilled military commander. He first appeared in *Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi* (1983).

Prior to joining the Rebel Alliance, Ackbar was enslaved by the Galactic Empire. His experiences under Imperial rule fueled his dedication to fighting for freedom and justice. He possessed exceptional tactical acumen, demonstrated throughout the Galactic Civil War.
